Fog City clouds above Golden Gate BridgeLesson learned in getting what you weren't looking for...Hiked 2 miles up and down the coast looking for a great sunset shot of the bridge. With the clouds looming overhead, I muttered ugly statements at the miserable light and started to hike back up the trail to the car.I took one last look back at the bridge before heading up over a ridge, and thought the light on the clouds looked interesting. After honing in on this composition for a while, realized there may be something there.Lesson learned that even normally miserable conditions can reveal something you didn't know to look for. If fact, I keep learning this lesson as a handful of my best-ever photos have come at sunset but overcast conditions, but had an element that made it worth it.
